Hotel Check-In Gets Ready For HITEC Trade Show in Baltimore

July 23, 2012 | by Bipper Media

Hotel Check-In, a precursor to the HITEC trade show that's coming to Baltimore this year, is looking to promote it's chest full of gadgets and services to the largest hotel brands throughout the city.  The initiative from Hotel Check-In is based on the premise that if they can get their name and brand out there in Baltimore, then when the HITEC trade show opens up, they will be immediately recognized by the attendees.

It's interesting actually, because how many companies do you know of that will actually pepper a city with their products and brand prior to a trade show arriving?  Well, that's exactly what Hotel Check-In is doing, which means there's probably a lot at stake for their business.

So, what are some of the techie gadgets that Check-In is throwing around in Baltimore?  Whatever they are, you can rest assured they are geared specifically for hotel guest rooms and will be prominently on display on the exhibition floor at HITEC.  Here's a sneak peak at what you can expect from Hotel Check-In:

  • Smart TVs
  • Connectivity panels
  • Mini-bars
  • Electronic door locks
  • Temperature controls
  • Beds with a massage function

And this is just what you can expect from Hotel Check-In, a participant at the HITEC trade show.

Now, if you have companies showing up and promoting products before a trade show arrives, then the trade show must be a pretty big deal, right?  So what are some of the things we can expect to see at the HITEC trade show in Baltimore?  Here's a quick look:

  • A bed made in the USA by New York-based Reverie that adjusts to multiple positions and contains both zero gravity and massage functions.
  • A mini-bar by Bartec that's supposed to increase profits for hoteliers and can be customized to blend in with a room's decor.
  • An electronic door lock system by Vincard Elsafe that lets guests check in remotely using their smartphone, iPad or other mobile device, and then use that device as their virtual guestroom key. The guestroom is unlocked simply by holding the phone near an access reader.
  • A next-gen smart TV from Samsung that promises to improve the quality and functionality of the hotel TV.

Of course, these are all what would be considered high end items that will be on display at the trade show.  But vendors also understand the nature of our economic condition and expect to have more practical items on display as well.  After all, the hotel industry has been one of the hardest hit sectors during our economic recession.
